Our friend Joe came to visit one weekend. He was here for work so we went to a Greek place for dinner and then to see Avenue Q. The next day we lunched with Joe, Tarek, Julie and their family. A good time was had by all!
When we were back together, we are trying to do everything for the last or next to last time that we’ve enjoyed so much whilst living here. Greenwich is a big part of that so we decided we wanted to take something back to America that would always remind us of London and Greenwich. We finally settled on two paintings from the Queen’s House and the National Maritime Museum (http://www.nmmprints.com/) If you’d like to see them they are bhc0748 and pah8042. The first depicts a busy harbor and is wonderfully detailed. The second is a water color of the Victory being towed into Gibraltar after the famous battle of Trafalgar. We’ve both come to respect Lord Nelson and of course Cheri has spent the two years looking out her window at him. We also visited Gibraltar so it seemed fitting that this should be one of the paintings we choose. It’s a wonderful service they offer and we purchased 3 ft by 2 ft paintings which came a few days after ordered!
