This
was a travel day from Jasper to Fairmont Hot Springs along the Icefield
Parkway. It had its own beauty in the
fog and rain even though the views were very different, we enjoyed it greatly. Dottie and Cheri got to journal on the way
down.
We
stopped at our lunch spot at the Bow Lake where we all had bowls of bison
chili. Yummy!! And Dottie and John had the most delicious
cornbread too.
As
we pulled into Fairmont Hot Springs, the weather cleared and we arrived at our
bungalow cabins. Each couple had a cute
little cabin and we mean little! Dottie
felt as though she was playing doll houses.
Each had a bedroom, a bath room and a tiny kitchenette. Both were at the edge of a steep creek bed
and both looked as though they could fall into the creek at any time, yet they
were cute as could be. Nice flowers on
the porch and a gas grill.
We
sat on the Frament's porch and enjoyed a beer/margarita, some chips, and a
sandwich. Once we were sated, we went
exploring. We noticed there was a bear
alert at the Fairmont hot springs hotel about a mile from our cabin. We bought
another 6 pack of beer and headed back to our cabins. John had driven all day and was pooped. He turned in.
Cheri, Dottie and Paul played a round of cards (hearts) where Paul won,
Dottie came in 2nd and Cheri lost, while we enjoyed a beer. Everyone slept well that night.
