Another
fine weather day and we had our breakfast leisurely and then headed back into
Banff. The mission today was a hike and
a canoe trip.
First
was the hike of the Fenlands trail. We
saw wet footprints of large animal on the paved part of the trail. John spotted
a deer's ears wiggling behind a tree. Photo op!
The couples went on separate hunts.
Paul & Dottie found the massage place Mountain Spa, and the Warren's
found the Banff Nat' l Park pass for our trip to Jasper, and got our tickets
for Glacier experience and Glass walkway near ice fields.
We
got to the canoe dock in plenty of time.
We had 9 people in 13 Person canoe for ride up the Bow River and back; unfortunately
4 of them were a family from Montreal with a 6 yr old boy and 3 yr old
girl. The parents were very active--
taking selfies and keeping the kids from falling out of the canoe-- but very
little paddling.
We
got back in time for Dottie and Cheri to make it to the mountain spa for much
anticipated therapeutic massages. Dottie
got a great deep tissue massage for neck and shoulders, back, and hamstrings.
Cheri got beat up by her masseuse, who refused to lighten up or stop when Cheri
told her to. Lesson learned.
John
and Paul took the opportunity to bike.
They went for about an hour and a half toward the Vermillion Lakes. They really enjoyed their outing.
Lucky
for us we had a nice pork chop dinner w sweet potatoes, and sautéed Asian
veggies that Chef Cheri provided. We even had dessert of strawberries in
dessert shell with vanilla ice cream. Yummy.
